The Ancient personal defence shield is a small device that emits a green-coloured forcefield around an individual with he Ancient gene. The defence shield can protect the user from almost any danger, including weapons damage or physical contact, and the built-in dampening system allows the user to fall from virtually any height and still be OK.
The shield acts as a complete barrier to the person. Nothing is allowed past, not even if the wearer permits it. Objects such as food or drink cannot be consumed whilst the device is on.
Like most Ancient devices, the personal shield interfaces with the user's mind. From there, the user can 'will' the shield to turn off, allowing them to touch objects and people.
