"Aurora" Class
 "Aurora" Class
The "Aurora" class battleship, named
by Colonel John Sheppard, after the warship Aurora was discovered,
is a battleship of Lantean origin.
These ships were mainly used in the
battle against the Wraith, as they are superior to the Wraith
Hive-ships in both
size, as well as in power. Not only can they outdo the Wraith
Hive-ships, they
are
also about four times larger than the Earth vessel
Daedalus.
Aside from superior battle capabilities, it also contains stasis
pods capable of keeping the crew in some sort of suspended animation
while their brain functions remain active. In other words, they live
in some sort of virtual reality while their bodies are unconscious.
The weaponry of the ship mainly consists of
Drone weapons,
launched from the
Ancient control chair and the ship is armoured with class-A
shielding.
The Aurora Class Battleship has the fastest sublight engines ever
seen on a battleship and has the capacity to travel with a speed of
0.999 times the speed of light. Other than that, they have the
ability to project a hologram onto a ship from quite a fair distance
away.
 The
Aurora was discovered by the Human team under the lead of John
Sheppard. This vessel is said not to be built for speed, which was
rather strange seeing as they are supposed to have the fastest
sublight engines at that time. The Aurora was eventually destroyed
to keep it out of the hands of the Wraith.
Later, a sister ship to the Aurora was found, which Sheppard
nicknamed the 'Orion'. It was found within a super volcano and
became the property of the Atlantis expedition team. However, due to
it being used in battle prematurely, it was destroyed.
A third ship named 'Tria' was discovered by the crew of the
Daedalus, still containing a few live Ancients due to the effects of
time dilation. More recently, they found a fourth ship, which
Sheppard handed over to some space 'Travellers' who needed the ship
in order to survive.
