The M9 is a 9mm semi-automatic handgun developed by the Italian manufacturer Beretta, and is the standard side-arm of all SG field units.
As the M9 used as a secondary weapon, it is rarely used in combat, in favour of the P90, however, in the event of a malfunction, or confiscation, of the P90, the M9 serves as an effective backup weapon.
However, there is one main setback to using the M9 in combat. Against the Wraith, the M9 proves a weak offensive weapon, as they are able to absorb a whole clip of ammunition before being subdued. Therefore, the M9 is rarely used against them, except when there is no other option. (The Defiant One)
